Present Like Steve Jobs

Here are the main points from the Present Like Steve Jobs Video

1. Set the Theme (What is the story you are going to tell?)
2. Provide the Outline (Where are you going to take the audience?)
3. Clear transitions between points in the outline (That's done and now we are going to...)
4. Be Passionate (Believe in what you are presenting and your knowledge)
5. Sell an Experience (Reinforce branding)
6. Use Analogies (Create a connection and context to aid the understanding of numbers)
7. Minimize Clutter (Don't put too much of anything on the screen)
8. Use Strong Visuals (Quality not Quantity)
9. Give a Show (Engage the audience is what you are presenting)
10. Have a "MOMENT."  (The point in the presentation that everyone has been waiting for)
11. Rehearse, Rehearse, Rehearse (The best presenters do it and so should you)
12. ...One More Thing... (provide an encore to the presentation and leave the audience feeling good)

You should also take a good look at the Professional Presentations Flash that I showed you in class.

Hi Dr Williams,

Would you explain a little bit more about what the Psycho Social Benefit is?

Does this mean that the company leaves a good impression to their customers (e.g. the customers feeling happy, helpful, beneficent…etc.) Or, it means the company does some charities, fund-raising and takes some social responsibility?

Thanks for your reply!

Janet,

It is your first answer that is correct. The psycho part is how the product makes the customer feel: happy, powerful, peaceful... and the social is how using the brand impacts their standing in society: status, belonging, etc.
